Full-time ophthalmic assistant needed for a state-of-the-art, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice located in Wilmington, Delaware. Exciting opportunity for an energetic and professional team player. Ophthalmology or optometric experience a plus, but not required. Willing to train a motivated candidate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, measuring visual acuity, obtaining ocular/medical history, tonometry, refractometry, contact lenses, and special diagnostic testing. Surgical Coordinator

Busy multi-physician practice located in Jenkintown, Norristown, and Northeast Philadelphia seeking a surgical coordinator. The surgical coordinator will serve as a liason between offices, surgeons, and surgical facilities.
Essential functions include the following: schedules surgeries in the office, over the phone, or at satellite locations; counsels the patient on all outpatient surgical instructions; obtains signature from patient on informed consents and post-operative release forms; verifies insurance benefits on surgery patients and determines if pre-certification is required by their insurance company; sets up the post operative appointments with referring doctorsí offices or SEES surgeons; schedules surgeries with the facility, prepares surgery chart for each surgeon, including pre-certifying surgery; obtaining the post op report from the referring doctor; reviewing with the patient the surgical instructions, appointment calendar and eye drops schedule for patientís pre and post operative care; enters surgery appointments and post op appointments in the scheduling system.

Essential responsibilities include performing OCT, fundus imaging, angiography, external photography, slit lamp imaging, and IOL Master calculations. Additional responsibilities require the ability to perform a preliminary examination on patients, including a complete medical and ocular history, visual acuity, lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exam, applanation tonometry, visual fields, pupil dilation, topography, and pachymetry. COA certification through JCAHPO required within 12 months of hire date. Will provide on job training if the applicant has experience in various capacities within the medical field. CRA certification through Ophthalmic Photographers' Society required within 3 years of hire date, to be maintained throughout employment through credit upkeep.
